This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the Prayer Journal mobile application ("App"). It is provided for your information; it is not legal advice.

1. Data We Collect and Where It Lives

Prayers and the people you add are stored on your device and synced through your private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit). We do not operate a server that stores your prayers, and we cannot read them.

2. AI Prayer Writing

When you use the AI prayer-writing feature, the text you enter — along with the category, the time of day, the first name of any person you attach, and any focus areas you have selected — is sent to Google's Gemini AI service (via Firebase AI Logic) for the sole purpose of composing a prayer in that moment.

This data is processed by Google under Google's API terms, which may include use to improve Google's services. We do not store this data on our own servers.

If you do not use the AI prayer-writing feature, none of this text is sent to Google.

3. Third Parties We Share Data With

We rely on the following service providers, each only for the limited purpose noted:

- Apple — iCloud (prayer sync), the App Store (subscription purchases), and App Attest / DeviceCheck (anti-abuse). - Google / Firebase — Gemini AI (prayer composition) and Firebase App Check (verifying that requests come from the genuine app).

4. What We Do Not Do

We do not use analytics or advertising. We do not track you across apps or websites. We do not sell or share your personal data. We do not require an account or collect your name, email, or contacts.

5. Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see or store your payment information. Subscription status is managed through your Apple ID.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your prayers remain available until you delete them or delete the App. To remove synced data, delete prayers within the App, or remove the App's data from your iCloud settings (Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Prayer Journal). Deleting the App from your device does not by itself remove data already synced to iCloud.

7. Children's Privacy

This App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit any information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be posted within the App or on this page, with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App indicates your acceptance of the current version of the policy.
